The pulse oximeter is recommended for heart and lung diseases to check if the values are within an appropriate range. The oxygen saturation (SpO2 values) is measured in the measuring range of 35 – 100%. It is an important parameter for assessing respiratory function. The measuring range for the pulse is designed very wide with 30 – 250 bpm.
Athletes and especially mountaineers use our meter to control the oxygen saturation of your blood at altitudes. As the height increases, saturation decreases. Up to 2500 m is usually not expected altitude sickness. Up to 3500 m, with a saturation of 90%, caution is required. If it goes up even higher (5800 m) and the device shows values between 80% and 90%, altitude sickness is to be expected and a reaction to the position is imperative.
